We opened the shop in 2013 with two chairs and one barber. From day one we agreed that the only thing we should put in front of quality barbering is authenticity. The Rooster's Nest was built on the simple idea that you could be successful by treating people how you wanted to be treated. We believe that delivering quality service along with bend-over-backwards customer service can set a gold standard that was common in our industry not too many years ago.

Sure, we have been voted one of the best barber shops in Lexington, but it is bigger than that. It's bigger than us. We are a barber shop that stays true to the craft and true to the barbers who stood behind a chair before us.

We take pride in what we do. From one of our legendary hot lather shaves, to the perfect beard taper, to a haircut with that extra attention to all the details. We own our work and we are proud to put our name on it.

Do I need an appointment, or do you accept walk-ins?

We are appointment based! You can book an appointment online or call/text the shop.

What services do you offer?

We offer a range of traditional barber services, including: Classic haircuts, beard shaping and hot lather shaves. Additionally, we provide a selection of handmade grooming products, such as beard oils, aftershaves, and hair pomades, all crafted in-house.

How much do haircuts and shaves cost?

Pricing varies depending on the barber. You can check out our price ranges for different services online or call/text the shop. If there is a price point you are most comfortable with, definitely let us know when you're booking - we will do our best to recommend a barber within that.

Do you offer beard trims and shaping?

Yes, we offer multiple beard services. From our 14 step, clean razor Steam Shave to our Traditional Beard Trim, we have you covered. We even created a specialty service for folks who want the steam shave experience without the clean shaven look - the Deluxe Beard Trim.

What’s your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

A valid credit card is required to reserve all appointments. We will not charge this card except in the case of late cancellations or no shows. Late Cancellations (not within business hours of the day prior to the scheduled appointment) will be charged half the price (50%) of the service booked. No Shows (not showing up to your scheduled appointment with no prior communication) will be charged the full price (100%) of the service booked. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, you will be charged a cancellation fee and will be asked to reschedule.

Is there parking available near the shop?

We have multiple parking options. Jefferson Street is always free, we have a parking lot behind our building and Blue Heron's lot is available before 4:30pm.
